Mental & Behavioral Health

Mental and behavioral health are critical components of individual and community wellness. We believe all communities have the right to be well, with strong mental and physical health care infrastructure, and easy access to healthy and affordable food, and community services.
We offer individual outpatient therapy to people ages 5 and up and family outpatient therapy in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English. We also offer psychiatric medication services.

Meet the Team
Dr. Hang Ngo, Psy.D.
Clinical Director
Languages: English, Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin
-
Hang Ngo, Psy.D., is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and the Clinical Director for QARI's Behavioral/Mental Health Clinic. Hang and her family left Vietnam as refugees after the Vietnam War and ended up in Chelsea, MA. They relied on culturally and linguistically appropriate medical care and social services in Boston's Chinatown but mental health services were very limited at that time. Hang's dream is to help build and provide culturally- and linguistically-affirming care for immigrant and refugee populations. She worked for many years in San Francisco's Chinatown, providing mental health services in Cantonese and Mandarin to immigrant children and families. Hang is very excited and honored to join QARI in the mission of helping underserved immigrants in our communities thrive.

Strategic Outcomes
-
In our inaugural year, QARI has secured its license to provide outpatient mental health services through the Department of Mental Health and has been establishing community partnerships with other mental health and social services agencies. Our goal is to provide treatment to at least 25 individuals/families by the end of 2023.
-
Our goal is to ensure QARI community-based mental health outpatient services are well established and recognized in the community. Mental health services will continue to provide initial and ongoing support and education for clients. Service capacity will be increased by 150% by the end of 2024.
-
Our goal is to establish and strategically organize service capacity. Informed by program data and needs assessments, we hope to address the specific needs of the community we serve and to build a sustainable team to provide services.
